Johnnie Holmes

My name is Johnnie (named after my dad) and I am retired ER nurse. My husband and I have lived and raised a family in Santa Clarita for 45 years. I’m always searching for vintage treasures - if it’s from the 1800’s to the 1960’s I am in love. I also love quilting and base my designs and methods on my Grandma Dovie’s quilts - soft, nubby and 100% cotton, often using vintage reproduction fabrics. If you’re interested in Ephemera (old papers and writings) or eclectic Destash ( vintage odds and ends and goodies that fit in a pocket) my space might be your go to place for your scrapbooking, collage or mixed media projects. I have an ongoing romance with old toys and a weakness for the absurd ( check out my orphaned doll heads) and an obsession for vintage bride and groom cake toppers. Treasure hunting with my sister is one of my most joyful pastimes. Sisters get it, right?

Risa Ross-Albertson

I am the owner/designer/maker of 108 Lotus Designs (formerly Sattva Designs). I am a Santa Clarita resident. You may recognize me as a yoga teacher here in town, but I am also a jewelry artisan, a reiki practitioner and lover of stones.

I aim to create pieces that are not only beautiful, but that help you stay true to yourself and support you in your life journey. Each piece is made by me with a whole lotta love, thought and reiki blessings, filled with the highest intentions for your healing, well-being and happiness. Most of my pieces are created with semi-precious and/or precious gemstones using either 14k gold-filled or sterling silver components. It is a great honor to be a small part of your journey and I hope that you enjoy your jewelry!

Our founder - Carol Reesha AKA "Boss Lady"

As the founder of Barn and Charm, I am so grateful for our wonderful customers and fellow retail neighbors who showed up during the pandemic with support of our small business and other small businesses in this cute little Old Town Newhall in So. California. We are a carefully curated and unique multi-vendor store that has grown and changed over the years. This spring we celebrate 6 years.

Most of my career life was spent as a Real Estate agent. After raising my girl’s right here in the Santa Clarita Valley I moved to the beautiful coastal town of Carlsbad. Being away from family proved to be too much for this Grandma and we moved back after 11 years. San Diego area pulled me into the gift and home décor industry and I worked for several years as a furniture/gift representative and regional manager. During this time I got involved in a couple multi-vendor stores that retailed either just vintage or just new merchandise. I also became very involved with chalk/clay paints as I painted countless pieces of furniture for myself and customers. With the move back to Santa Clarita I realized there is just not the type of store I truly want to be part of. Antique mall concept is great but also new, on trend items that blend with the old and not a “mall” feel but truly a unique boutique feel is what I was unsuccessful in finding. So….I created it!
